Today was Alex's first 'real' meal. Up until this point, he has had 95% breast-milk, and 4.5% formula (when Jess was battling Thrush/Mastitis), and .5% water (bath time can be nutritious!) Today, we decided to give Alex his first taste of a 'solid' food. In all honesty, it wasn't what I would have considered 'solid' at all - actually looked a little runny for my 'ideal' oatmeal (though it did smell pretty good. . .) However, for Alex, it was the first time taking any kind of food from a spoon, and it was certainly more solid than anything to date.
He did awesome, and he seemed to really enjoy it. Our plan is to give him oatmeal again tomorrow (while we celebrate Taco Bell Sunday) and Monday, then try apple sauce starting Tuesday.
After his big meal, we gave him a bath and put him down for a nap - that was nearly over two hours ago now, so we can be pretty sure the whole experience took a lot out of the poor little guy.

He sure is a cutie, and wow, he wanted to feed himself..Such a big boy.
