So first, a quick disclaimer: I'm running on about 2.5 hours of 'sleep' - I guess since women have to deal with labor, the hospital makes the father's deal with a 'convertible bed'.

Now, a rough timeline to get you up to date:

1:30pm on Sunday, April 6th 2008 ("Due date") Jessica starts to experience minor contractions
3:00pm Jessica is having regular contractions, and a decision is made to go to the hospital 'around 5:00'
5:00pm Jessica and Steven check-in
7:15 pm Jessica gets her epidural
8:10pm Jessica's water is broken
12:00am on Monday, April 7th 2008 The doctor is called in and pushing begins
12:42am Alexander Theodore Earhart is born
12:42am -> 1:45am Random tests are done on Alex/Jessica - Alex scored a 9 on his APGAR and is deemed 'healthy'.
1:45am Alex is fed for the first time
2:00am Alex meets his grandparents and great-grandparents
6:00am Steven and Jessica settle in to their new room - Alex heads to the nursery


That's the quick summary: Ultimately, everything went smoothly. Jessica experienced some shaking during transition, but it basically just looked a little scary. Amber, Steven, and Jessica were present at the time of the birth - a big thanks to Amber for her help.
