We get around

So yesterday and today were pretty packed. Let's start where we left off, on Friday.

Friday night, I took over for Jessica on "night shift" - I used bottles provided by Jess, and Alex made it through the night with only 1 mid-night feeding; I fed him just before bed, at around 2am, and then he woke up at 7am; it was nothing short of a miracle. We're hoping to get that sort of success on a consistent basis. Oh, and we got a new couch - it holds all three of us very nicely :)

Saturday day was pretty busy for us, we were visited by Grandma and Grandpa (Steven's mom and dad), and enjoyed a nice visit for a few hours.

After the visit, Jess, Alex, and I headed to Babies R Us and used up some of our gift-card-money on some diapers and a new bottle warmer (which is a pretty cool gadget :)). We ate dinner out with Alex for the first time at Q'Doba Mexican Grill (I always think of my Aunt Pam when we eat there), then strolled around the mall in his super cool stroller; sorry, no pictures of that, but I wish we would have taken some. It was the first time we were out'n'about, and I was strangely far more comfortable than I expected. I also noticed other people pushing strollers for the first time in my life. For those that don't have babies yet (or if you just want an exercise), next time you're at the mall, look for and count strollers; you'll be absolutely amazed at how many infants -> toddlers there are at a mall; i was, anyways.

Sunday was another Day of Rest; we telecommuted to church again (http://www.goodshepherdpca.org/site) and listened to last week's sermon.

This afternon, Grams and PaPa Mark (jessica's parents) came over to visit with Alex and celebrate Jessica's 21st birthday (4/23/87). We took Alex on his first semi-fine-dining experience to Frankie Gianinos. He was quite the gentleman all evening, hardly making a fuss, and Grams fed him for her first time. All in all, it was a good (and busy) day.

We're settling in for the night now; we just gave Alex a bath (which has gotten less difficult), and he has passed out in his bouncer. Let's hope for a good night! :)
