So what's new?

I wanted to keep this blog as factual and to the point as possible - I didn't want to put much fluff in to it as the primary purpose was simply to update my friends and family on what is new with Alex; so to that end, what IS new with Alex?

Well, for starter's, we found out early this morning that he REALLY enjoys sleeping on my chest. It really is pretty special, considering I was (at one point) afraid that he might not like me. Sure, I'm a likeable guy, but I've never been around kids - especially new borns - and from most of my recollection, most of them cried when I got near them. I'm pretty excited that I actually calm Alex down when he's around.

He also started being more alert today - it's kind of hard to explain, because i suppose he's always getting 'more alert', but I actually felt like he was trying to visually focus on things today; I look forward to him being able to recognize and follow things.

We were visited today by some more family which was really nice. Both sets of grandparents came by to visit alex.

I love this picture. He sure does look like????- Steven just as he was about to expound on an important point and then drifted off to sleep. Or Jessica as she was about to say "Oh one more thing!!! but drifted off to sleep. It seems to me everyone is sleep deprived but you don't mind a bit!!! God bless you and Baby Alex with a good nights sleep. GG

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so excited for you both! We mom's smile as we watch our kiddos suddenly become the "mom and dad". God is good, and you will both learn as you go, just as we all did. Trial and error are great teaching tools. Babies are truly a gift only God can give. Enjoy you blessing!
